I’m directing a car commercial and it’s about how people across the USA deal with road rage. Its a funny commercial so these should be hilarious things that you guys do in your part of the country.
So where are you from and what do you do?
Flip the bird?
Throw money?
Throw food?
Say a prayer?
Honk Beethoven’s 5th?
Punch the roof 3 times?

I’m in Denver. Everyone’s always 420 smoek weed erryday all the time so there is no road rage here.

Someone threw a salad at me once on the freeway in California. I have no idea what I did, but it must have been pretty bad.

I start yelling and screaming obscenities at them while blowing the horn with one hand and flipping the bird with the other hand.

Maybe they were going for the ballistic crouton approach.

Was it a kale salad with dairy-free parmesan and gluten-free croutons?

I know a guy who kept bottles of urine in his car. He had a super soaker, too.
We don’t keep in touch.

Kansas is too chill, we don’t really do road rage in my experience.

In Seattle we throw our overpriced artisanal coffee at you but we make sure the cup is biodegradable as to not inadvertently kill a salmon in our caffeinated fit of rage.

This was 10 years ago when nobody knew what kale or gluten was... You know, better times.

When I lived in LA and did a lot of lanesplitting in gridlock, I passed a lot of people rolling joints. Lots of traffic, minimal road rage.

The bird, or I play back at them. Which admittedly isn’t the best thing, but its fun...

A friend in high school used to put magnetic tape on drivers manuals from the DMV and flick them at the side of someone’s car if they were driving like an idiot. Worked surprisingly well. Not sure I’d do that these days though. Too many tightly wound lunatics with guns. Maybe it was that way when I was younger too and I just didn’t notice it, but I don’t think so.

Cleveland.

Well that wasn’t west coast. That was NJ. Here in Oakland people shoot each other and I keep an ice axe in my car to deter crazed tweakers at gas stations. I deal with my frustrations by apologizing even if I’m nowhere near in the wrong and keeping as much distance as I can from the crazies when possible. Not much humor in the road rage here I’m afraid.

Here in the Seattle area the biggest sources of road rage seem to be frustration. It’s infuriating to be cut off in heavy traffic, and it’s worse when an idiot on a bicycle does it. There are good bicyclists, and there are those that ride unpredictably and make dick moves on the road. There does not seem to be any way to ‘deal’ with such people, because all the cars are in gridlock, and the bicycles are a block away before you could possibly respond.
As for other, less aggressive methods of dealing with it, we did legalize marijuana a while back, so there's that when you're done driving.

Or we may possibly just throw a Salmon. Depending on who you ask.

Mayor McShwinn, at your service; here to swerve and disrespect.
I like to think I’m not one of the problem bicyclists, but the odds are I will and have done such stupid things.

I would agree the majority of cyclists are law abiding and generally respect their surroundings but there are some serious d-bags out there that ruin it for all the good riders.

Do you live in Johnson County? People drive like complete asshats in Johnson County and I’ve seen quite a bit of road rage here. The rest of Kansas has very kind-hearted drivers though.

LA driver here: I will typically smile and wave and carry on about my business, nothing makes people more angry than smiling and waving while they know that you know they they hate you.
